Turnout update

Five o'clock turnout figures are finally in at the county board of elections. Compared with recent years things look about average.

As of that time there was a turnout of 38 percent county-wide. In the city it's 34 percent. In the towns it's 40 percent.

At the same time in 2002 --- the last mid-term/gubernatorial election --- turnout was basically the same: 39 percent overall; 32 in the city and 41 in the towns.

It's probably too early/too close to tell whom that favors.
